Une jour, ils trouvrent un portail dans une grotte humide et sombre. La paroi tait recouverte de mousse et d'anciennes peintures reprsentant le pass d'un peuple, le peuple des satyres. Ils avaient sous leurs yeux le pass du plus illustre peuple de cette terre. Leurs quotidiens se rsumaient entretenir leurs terres, se protger des monstres de la nuit, se battre contre leurs voisins cherchant prendre leurs territoires et faire la fte... Mais qu'a-t-il pu leurs arriver ces tres ? Une illustration proche du portail montrait tous les satyres courir en direction d'un portail. tait-ce le mme portail que les vagabonds avaient sous les yeux ? C'est ce qui traversa les penses de l'un des vagabonds et se laissa aller dans sa curiosit en traversant le portail. Les autres accoururent vers lui pour l'arrter mais il tait dj trop tard. Sa jambe venait de traverser cette poussire violette. En essayant de le faire reculer, les vagabonds activrent brusquement le portail qui les aspira dans une bourrasque de vent. *** Le curieux ouvrit les yeux et se cacha immdiatement les yeux. Le soleil l'aveuglant lui empcha de voir encore quelques instants. Il l'empchait de voir qu'il tait dans un temple de marbre si situant dans les airs. C'est ce moment qu'il comprit.
